Spring 2013 Ice Storm

 Yesterday at 2:15 pm. school was closed because of the freezing rain and road conditions.  The weather in Nebraska is so unpredictable.  Yesterday we experienced rain, snow, hail, lightning and thunder.  As a result of all the ice, today school was cancelled.  The kids thought this was awesome to have a snow day in April.
 
 Ice was hanging on the patio furniture and on the trees all day.  The driveways could not even be scooped because of how thick the ice is and the temperatures are too low to melt anything.
Such is life in Nebraska!  I am glad that we received the moisture though because of the drought conditions that we have experienced.  I just wish that the moisture would have just been rain.

    Oh my -- happy that we got the rain, but snow expected overnight! Seriously -- winter needs to take a hike!! :)

    Oh my word! I had no idea it was so bad there! We got rain, hail and thunder and are predicted to get snow tonight. Boo hoo! Hurry up, spring!

    BOO! I enjoy snow days but I prefer them in January and February. Hopefully spring comes your way soon!
