Decorating Easter Cookies

Mrs. Pfeifer handing out paper towels to everyone.
Second grade is filled with many fun class parties and activities.  One activity is to decorate/frost Easter cut-out sugar cookies.  Ashlin was on the list to provide four cut-out cookies for each person in her classroom.  Therefore, I baked cookies for 18 second graders to frost and decorate before Easter.

Ashlin helped me keep track of how many cookies I had baked by making tally marks for each design.  (A math lesson was involved using tally marks.)  We baked tulips, butterflies, eggs, and bunnies.  Each student received one of each design to frost/decorate.

Thanks goes to the other moms in the class that donated frosting, sprinkles and other supplies to the activity.  The students got to enjoy the cookies later in the day while watching a movie.
