All Good Things Must Come To An End

All good things must come to an end and this morning everything went back to normal.  After being on vacation for the last two weeks, Keith went back to work this morning and I went back to my volunteer job at church.  I report back to work at school later this week and the kids head off to school next week.  I guess summer is coming to an end also.
The last couple years Keith has taken two weeks of vacation together.  The first week of vacation the weather was very HOT!  The first week we went boating up at the river a few times, visited our local water park a few times and took a day trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to an awesome water park there.  Since we knew that we would be boating more than once in two weeks we left the boat in Bloomfield at Grandpa and Grandma Leader's house to save us from hauling it back and forth.
The kids love to hang out in the front of the boat and feel the wind blowing.  These sailboats were all out one day when we were there.  On this trip, Erica and Cara stayed at Grandpa and Grandma's house and helped Grandma learn more about her new Cricut machine.
Usually boating always involves jumping in and swimming around the boat to cool off.  Boating also involves packing a cooler filled with sandwiches, drinks and snacks.  We love vacation time at our house, but we were sad that our two weeks of fun were over.

Take care,
Michelle

  3. I am always surprised to hear that kids go back to school so early in August. Growing up in So Cal, school didn't start in the fall until after Labor Day...ever. Now that we live in the PNW, a few districts here are beginning the Thursday before Labor Day, but still nothing as early as you all. That boating looked so fun...hope you can squeeze in a few more fun summertime activities before school actually begins.
