Keith is on vacation for two consecutive weeks, so, we have been in and out for the last week. We wanted to go boating a few times last week, but the weather did not cooperate. The weather has been cool and overcast for days. We even received some rain which we needed.
Keith and I attended another one of the summer concert series events at Divots. The Christian rock band, Skillet, performed. They put on a great show. We took the kids bowling one afternoon since it was too cool to go swimming. We visited the water park a few times.
We took the kids to Adventureland in Des Moines, Iowa. We left on Tuesday, spent the night, and visited the park all day on Wednesday and then drove home. I charged my camera batteries before we left on Tuesday, but to my annoyance, the batteries went dead after only two pictures at the park. I was so disappointed. The kids spent the morning riding rides and then after lunch we headed to the water park which is in another area of the amusement park. The kids had so much fun. I hope they never out grow Adventureland! It is not a large amusement park, the lines aren't too long, senior citizens run the rides, there is shade, etc. I could go on and on about how we love Adventureland.
This was the first time that we had gone to the water park in the amusement park and the kids had lots of fun! They had races down the slides, enjoyed the lazy river, and Justin enjoyed going down the colored kiddie water slides.
After being at the park from 10 a.m. until 6:20 p.m. we headed home. The trip home took a little over 4 hours and we made two stops.
Take care,
Michelle
