Christmas Concert

Last Sunday was the kids' Christmas concert at school.  This will be the only year that all four of them will be in the same Christmas concert.  Therefore, this post has lots of photos from the event.  Cara and her friend, Charli, were asked by the music teacher to come early and hand out programs to the guests.
Grandma Korth had my camera before the concert to take some photos since I was in another room getting the preschoolers ready to perform.  Grandma took this photo of Cara with her teacher and cousin, Mr. Korth, and his daughter Kennedy.
Justin was very excited about his first time to perform in a concert.  He had been counting down the days and practicing his songs at home and school.  In this photo, he is waiting for the concert to start.  First Father Andrews said a prayer and talked for a few minutes.
The preschool class sang "Angels Sing", "Five Little Reindeer" and "Many Years Ago".  They did such a good job.  Naturally, every song included actions which is what they love the most.
At a Catholic school fundraiser this fall, I purchased a Home & School VIP package which included reserve seats for the Christmas concert.  Therefore, we had front row seats to better view our singers.
Here is my back as I help direct the preschoolers.  After they were done singing, they got to sit on the floor in the front and watch the "big kids" sing.
Erica was chosen to play a song on the piano.  She played "O Come All Ye Faithful" for the guests.  They has students play piano selections in between grades while the students file on and off the risers.
The 2nd Grade students sang "O Come, Little Children", "Bells Are Ringing" and " Up On The Housetop".  Ashlin also had actions to go with her songs.
The 4th Grade sang "Dona Nobis", and "Do You Hear What I Hear?".
The 6th Grade sang "Adeste Fideles" and "Feliz Navidad" (the song on the Taco John's commercial for Christmas).  Cara didn't realize that song was in a commercial until I told her after the concert.
The concert ended with the Sacred Heart Singers leading the guests in "Deck The Halls".  Another great concert from all the students at Sacred Heart Elementary.

Take care,
Michelle

  1. Looks like a great program. It was neat that at least for one year everyone is in the same place at he same time.
