Last year at the library I noticed that John Grisham had written a children's book titled, Theodore Boone Kid Lawyer. I told Cara that we had to read it together. At first she was not very excited about reading a book that I recommended. But, once we started reading she was hooked on the story line, the way the book was written and trying to guess what was going to happen next
A few weeks ago I noticed that John Grisham had written another pre-teen book titled, Theodore Boone the abduction. We were out shopping one day and I pointed the sequel out to Cara. She definitely wanted to spend some of her birthday money on purchasing the book.
Last week we finished reading the book and it definitely did not disappoint either one of us. I wasn't surprised that John Grisham would write about lawyers, but I was surprised that he could write down at a level for kids Cara's age to understand. We enjoyed reading the book together and discussing it.
Now Cara is waiting for the next book in the series. I hope he writes more.
Take care,
Michelle
What a fun thing for you and Cara to do together. Cory loves, loves, loves John Grisham's books too! Since I have worked for lawyers for over 20 years, I certainly don't want to read about them! HA HA!
